Has COVID-19 got you strapped for cash?
Is someones birthday coming up and you don't know what you're going to buy?
Here is how I created a memorable birthday gift for $10.00
What you will need:
$8 cork memo board from Kmart
$2 push pins from kmart
Metal ruler, cutting mat and a stanley knife OR
Scissors
A printer
Paper

Step 1
Gather together the photos you would like to use (I pinched my photos from my friends Facebook page)
Step 2
Lay them out in a design program - you can use Word or Publisher, I used Indesign.
Step 3
Print them out. I printed mine on 300gsm paper on my A3 printer at home. If you don't have a printer at home you can take your file to Officeworks and they will print it for you - just make sure you save it as a PDF file first
TIP: If you don't have access to a printer, you can use things you already have such as - a letter from your friend, a concert ticket, movie tickets, plane tickets.

Step 4
Cut your photos out using the cutting mat, metal ruler and stanley knife (or scissors.)

Step 5
Place your photos on the board how you would like them, this may take a bit of fiddling and overlapping to get it right.

Step 6
Once your happy with your layout - pin them down with the push pins!

You're done!

This is such a simple but really thoughtful idea. I like how it turns something inexpensive into a meaningful, personal gift — those are usually the ones people appreciate the most. The whole process is pretty straightforward too: print your photos, cut them out, arrange them, and pin them onto a cork board, which makes it very accessible even if you’re not super into DIY
What stands out to me is how customizable it is. You can switch photos anytime, mix in tickets or notes, or even change the layout depending on your mood. Projects like this are great because they’re not just decor — they kind of evolve with your memories.
