General FAQ's

I am interested in working with you, how do we get started?

I love welcoming new people into my creative shell family, so to get started say hi via email (shelley@creativeshell.com.au) or fill out my quote form on the home page of my site. Once you receieve your quote and you're happy to go ahead I will send you through an invoice. I require a 50% deposit on all projects so that I can book your job in.

Why don't you have prices on your website?

This is purely because no two jobs are exactly the same. Each job is quoted based on YOUR needs.

Why do you require a 50% deposit before you get started?

Paying a 50% deposit ensures your job is booked into my schedule - it also means you are invested in the process.

What are your payment terms?

To book in a job or a photo session I require a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% is paid once your job is completed. Final payment must be received before the handing over of any files takes place. Payment is required within 7 days of your job approval.

I don't live near you, can we still work together?

Of course, I work with clients all over Australia - as long as you have internet access and an email address, then we're good to go. For photo sessions - I travel anywhere between Sydney & Port Macquarie.

Branding & logo design FAQ's

What is the difference between logo design & branding?

A logo is a graphic, motif or typographic element which identifies your business.

Branding incorporates a logo along with a colour palette, font selections & supporting design elements. All of these elements put together make up your branding.

What is included in my logo design purchase?

Once your logo is completed and your final payment has been made you will receive:

- Your logo in a number of different formats - this includes: EPS, PDF, jpeg & png

- A style sheet outlining the fonts & colours used in your logo

- A file guide outlining where to use the above supplied files

What is the difference between a design concept and a design revision?

Design concepts are different designs / different creative directions.

I offer a minimum of 3 different logo concepts / versions. Once you have narrowed your selection down to one or two concepts, I then refine your choice based on your feedback. These are referred to as design revisions and includeminor changes such as font selections, colours & proportions - it does not involve changing the concept itself.

What is a 'round of revisions'?

When designing your new logo I offer a minimum of 3 concepts with 3 'rounds of revisions'. A round refers to the action of  me interpreting your feedback and actioning it to present you with a modified concept. To make the most of each round it is important to compile all of your feedback into one concise email and make sure it is clear. This way, I will be able to action all elements of your feedback to make sure you don't use any revisions unnecessarily.
It is important to note that additional revisions are an extra cost, charged per round.

Website design FAQ's

What platform do you use to design your websites?

I use WIX to design my websites. It is an online website design tool that gives users drag-and-drop simplicity, this means that when I've finished designing your site - you can edit & make changes to it yourself with ease!

Do you need all of my content before you can get started?

Yes! I require all content before starting. This includes, the pages you require, the features you require and any text and images you would like to be on your site. If you're a little unsure, that's fine I can help you sort it out - a great way to start is by searching the web for businesses similar to yours to get inspiration.

Can you write my content for me?

Unfortunately I don't offer this service. You'll need to find a copywriter to help you out.

What is a responsive website?

A responsive website is designed to automatically resize when viewed on a desktop, tablet or smartphone. By having a responsive website it means your accessibility is far greater. These days smartphone use dominates any other type of device so its very important to get your website designed as a responsive site. This feature is included in my website design services.

I don't know anything about WIX, can you show me how to use it?

Yes, I won't design your website for you and leave you in the deep end. Once completed I can walk you through the basics of how to edit your site should you require to in the future. WIX also offers tutorials & customer support if you need any additional help.

Will I have access to my dashboard or do all changes need to be done by you?

In the early stages of design you will not have access to the dashboard, however once your site is completed it will be transferred over to you. This enables you to make any additional changes yourself and have more control over your site.

If you would rather not have any involvement in changing your website, that is fine also - I can do it for you but keep in mind hourly rates apply.

Do you help with search engine optimisation?

I don't offer an SEO service as such, but your site will be optimised using WIX's SEO wizard which can help you rank higher in search engines such as Google.
